BackgroundThe study <strong>assistance</strong> <strong>scheme</strong> is available to Western Australian (WA) public sectoremployees, who are undertaking postgraduate study related to their employment.The Public Sector Commission has partnered with <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>University</strong> to provide adiscount on tuition fees for selected postgraduate courses.ScopeThe discount is valued at 10 per cent of the fee at the time of enrolment, calculatedon a unit by unit basis.The discount only applies to the programs offered by <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>University</strong> in 2013 aslisted in the appendix.EligibilityPermanent or fixed term employees (full-time and part-time) in public sectoragencies are eligible to apply for the study <strong>assistance</strong> <strong>scheme</strong>. Staff that areemployed through an employment agency are not eligible to apply for the discount.Applicants must meet each of the following criteria:• be new entrants to the course of study in 2013 and be enrolled in the courseprior to applying for the discount, or must have received the discount in2012• meet the academic entry and progress requirements of <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>University</strong>• enrol in their course of study and obtain a student number before applyingfor the study <strong>assistance</strong> <strong>scheme</strong>.The study <strong>assistance</strong> <strong>scheme</strong> is not available to applicants who are re-enrolling inone of the listed courses in 2013, and who did not receive the discount in 2012.Applicants who are approved to receive the discount in 2013:• will continue to qualify for the discount for the remainder of their programs(subject to ongoing eligibility) and must re-apply for the discount at thebeginning of each study period• will continue to be eligible for the discount should they choose to progressto higher level <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>University</strong> programs (for example a GraduateCertificate to a Graduate Diploma)• will remain eligible for the discount as long as they remain an employee of apublic sector agencyApplications must be endorsed by the Commission to be eligible for the discount.The Commission’s endorsement does not override <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>University</strong>’s entry oracademic progress requirements.

The seminarhighlighted the need for responsible sourcing, verifyingcompliance to social and environment standards.International Anti Corruption Day:9th December 2010GCN, India was represented by Dr. Uddesh Kohli and Ms.Pragya Varma in the seminar on 'empowering citizens tocombat corruption' organized by UNODC jointly with CVCand SAIL.Dr. A.K.
