SUMMARY OF KEY AREAS OF INTEREST .OPS 1 - ATTRACTING AND KEEPING THE RIGHT PEOPLETotal Police Officer FTE (page 2)The Total Police Officer, actual employment level (AEL) plus LWOP of FTE, is ## FTE above the Current Authorised strength of FTE.The Police (Commander to Recruit) AEL is currently ##FTE above the Current Authorised strength when the number of officers on LWOP is not included in the AELtotal.The next scheduled schools are in June 2010 (2 Squads of 30).Total Police Staff FTE (page 3)The Police Staff actual employment level (AEL) is 1 FTE below the Current Authorised strength when the number of employees on LWOP is not included in the AELtotal.Police Separations (page 4)The 2009/10 financial year to date separations for Police Officers (Commander to Recruit) is ## of which there are ## resignations, ## retirements, ## medicalretirements, ## dismissals and ## deceased Officer.The monthly separation rate has reduced dramatically to an average of 19 per month compared to the same period last financial year of 28 per month. If the July2010 attrition rate of 49 is taken out of the equation the average drops even further to 14 per month. So far, there have been 8 separation notifications received byPersonnel Services for February 10.Sick Leave (pages 5 & 6)OPS 2 – PROMOTING ORGANISATIONAL HEALTH AND WELLBEINGThe year to date (July 09 to Jan 10) Police Officer absence due to sick leave is averaging ## hours per FTE. This is a 5% increase in the hours per FTE from thesame period in 2008/09 which was ## hours per FTE. The Police Agencies HR Benchmark for 2007/2008 was ## hours per FTE for Police Officers.Police Staff absence due to sick leave during this financial year to date (July 09 to Jan 10) is averaging ## hours per FTE. This is an increase of 22% in the hoursper FTE from the same period in 2008/09 which was ## hours per FTE. Leave Liability (page 7)OPS 2 – PROMOTING ORGANISATIONAL HEALTH AND WELLBEINGThe Agency’s leave liability has decreased in weeks by 1.5% for the 2009/10 financial year to date (## weeks down to ## weeks). For the same period last financialyear the Agency’s leave liability had also decreased by 1.5%.Police Officer leave liability has increased by 0.3% whilst Police Staff leave liability has decreased by 11%.OPS 3 – DRIVING DIVERSITY<strong>Key</strong> Equity and Diversity profiles (page 8)Over the past two and a half years there has an upward trend in the key Equity & Diversity areas of Women, Culturally Diversity and Mature Age employees withdownward trends occurring in Women in Management Tiers 2 & 3, Indigenous Australians and <strong>People</strong> with Disabilities.Although the percentage of Women has an overall upward trend the last two quarters have shown marginal decreases.Our <strong>People</strong> Strategy – <strong>Key</strong> <strong>People</strong> <strong>Measures</strong> January 2010
