Step III : Reduc<strong>in</strong>g non-structural hazard<br />

a) To relocate furniture and o<strong>the</strong>r contents<br />

b) To secure non-structural build<strong>in</strong>g elements with <strong>the</strong> help of structural<br />

eng<strong>in</strong>eers<br />

c) To secure <strong>the</strong> furnish<strong>in</strong>gs and equipments to <strong>the</strong> walls, columns or <strong>the</strong> floors<br />

with help of eng<strong>in</strong>eers and technicians.<br />

Step IV: Hazard Survey and Prioritization<br />

All <strong>the</strong> non-structural hazard should be identified systematically and prioritise for<br />

as high, medium or low priority and action taken immediately or <strong>in</strong> due course. This<br />

<strong>in</strong>volves systematic survey and categorisation of all hazards <strong>in</strong> each area of <strong>the</strong> hospital<br />

and action <strong>the</strong>reof. <strong>Hospital</strong>/health facility should have a Committee dedicated to<br />

undertake this task and monitor on cont<strong>in</strong>uous ongo<strong>in</strong>g basis.<br />
