A woman who adopts the appearance of man.” (Al-Mustadrak,Vol. 1, pp. 252, Ḥadīš 252)If parents quarrel, what should children do?A’lā Ḥaḍrat has said: If there is quarrel betweenparents the children should neither support the mother nor thefather. They shouldn’t be harsh on the father out of the love forthe mother. It is considered disobedience of Allah andḤarām to hurt the feelings of the father, or to reply back to himrudely, or to speak to him disrespectfully by looking straightinto his eyes. It is not allowed for children to support eithertheir mother or father in this way. Both of them are his Heavenand Hell. Whoever he hurts, he will deserve the Hell.One should never go for such obedience of anyone whichculminates in disobedience of Allah . For example, if themother asks her child to hurt the father and if he does notcomply i.e. he refuses to hurt his father, and due to this themother gets angry, then he should let her be angry and shouldnot listen to his mother at all in this matter, and vice versa forthe father.Scholars have elaborated that the mother has priority when itcomes to serving [parents] and the father has preference whenit comes to respect because one’s father is the head of hismother as well.
