Beginning with the left (driver) side, remove the bracketfrom the original muffler assembly and using the originalhardware, install the bracket onto the Borla Performancemuffler assembly as shown in figure 4. Removethe original clamps and slide them onto the mufflerinlet pipe as also shown in figure 4.Figure 42. Place the muffler assembly into position as shown infigure 5 and using the original hardware install thebracket (3 bolts) securing the muffler assembly to thevehicle. Torque the hardware to 18-22 ft. lbs. Do nottighten the clamps3. Repeat step 1 and 2 for the installation of the right(passenger) side muffler assembly shown in figure 6.4. Check your exhaust system for proper clearance underthe vehicle and also for tip alignment.Figure 55. Once position has been determined to be correct, tightenthe clamps to 32-35 ft. lbs.7. Before starting your vehicle, make sure to check allwires, hoses, brake lines, body parts and tires for safeclearance from the exhaust system.8. Start vehicle and check for any leaks. If any leaks arefound, determine cause (such as loose or incorrectly positionedclamp) and repair as necessary.Figure 69. As shown in figure 7 you have completed the installationof your new Borla Performance Cat-back exhaustsystem.Note: When you first start your vehicle after the installation ofyour new Borla Performance Exhaust System, there may besome smoke and fumes coming from the system. This is a protectiveoil based coating used in the manufacturing of mandrelbent performance exhaust tubing.
