This amountcomes from three mainsources: tui-tion, governmentfunding and endowmentfunds in support oftheBursary Program. The annual interest fromthe Bursary Fund is notmeeting the annual needsof our students. Each yearfor the last several years, funds from operationswere drawn to cover thebursary shortfall. The cost is immediate. The benefits last a lifetime. When the Class of 1958 gathered forits 50 th Reunion they recalled andcelebrated countless memories and ofhow those experiences as students ata Jesuit school impacted the menthey became.Among them were men whose familiescould afford the tuition. Alsoamong them were men who couldnot have attended if not for the generosityof alumni and friends at thattime. The stories, the fellowship and theaccomplishments of the Class of1958 made it abundantly clear themission of the school and the importanceof the Bursary Fund have notchanged in the more than 50 yearssince their graduation. In the current schoolyear, 70 students, 12% ofthe student body, receivedfinancial aid totaling $239,585, an average gift of $3,423.In order to keep pace with current and future needs, St Paul’smusthavea healthy Bursary Fund. The current endowment levelsits at approximately $3.3 million. In order for us to meet theannual tuition assistance requests of our families, an additional$1.9 million is required. The primary source of contributions to the Bursary Fund is theAnnual Giving Campaign.Your annual gift can be directed to the General Bursary Fund orto a Named Bursary by completing the 2009 Annual GivingForm, by making your gift online, or by responding positivelywhen St Paul’s students call you this spring to ask for yoursupport.By contributing to the Bursary Fund, annual donors arehonouring the history and tradition of those who have comebefore us, while ensuring future opportunities for generationsof students to come. The Class of 1958 gathered at Homecoming 2008 to celebrate 50 years since graduation.2008 ANNUAL GIVING REPORT5
