On the sameday, books were given to the poor but good students numbering 19 ofclass V-X. A noted teacher Dr. Amitava Mukherjee of Sashibhusan SahaInstitution, Pandua and another teacher Sh. Atal Kumar Das of Ilsobawere present to inspire the students. Branch distributed 42 Nos. ofspectacles on 19.6.2008 free of cost to the villagers. Free eye testingcamp was organised on 11.5.2008 and about 100 villagers were treatedin the camp.Bhubaneswar North, Orissa : Branch organized a blood donationcamp on 05/07/08 at a remote village Kuhuri in Khurda district with theco-operation of India Red Cross Bhubaneswar Municipal CorporationHospital, and Old Students Associatin of Janata High School. 27 bottlesof blood were collected with the help of Blood Bank Doctor, Dr. BenudharSatpathy, two technicians. Local MLA Dr. Bibhuti Bhusan Harichandan,Khurda district collector Sri Narayan Chandra Jena attended the camp.Sri Santap Jena, secretary of old students association, BVP membersSri L.K. Mohanty Dr. Kanaklata Patanaik, Dr. P.K. Pattnaik, Smt. NaliniMohanty made all arrangements the camp.Nikol, Gujarat : Branch organised Bone mineral density test(B.M.D.) on 17-06-08. Teachers College,Jayanagr II block, Bangalore on 31st May and 1st June 2008. Eightdesignated faculty members together with 45 office bearers from thefour states participated in the workshop.The two-day workshop was inaugurated by Shri I.D. Ojha, NationalWorking President and Shri K.G. Subbarama Setty. Patron-Zone XVI on31st May 2008. National Patron Justice Dr. M. Rama Jois graced theoccasion and addressed the gathering. This was followed by businesssessions. Shri Suramanna, National organising secretary, explained thephilosophy and objectives of the <strong>Parishad</strong>. Shri. K.D. Gupta, NationalAdditional Secretary General highlighted the duties and responsibilitiesof all the office bearers at the pranth and zonal level.Shri S.K. Verma, National Vice President, dealt at length on theprocedure in respect of Record Keeping, record Management, principlesand its maintenance. Shri Harish Jindal, National Finance Secretary,covered various points including Financial Management, Budgeting, fundraising, Accounts and Audit, <strong>Vikas</strong> Mitra/ Ratna and utkrishtata Sammanetc. Shri Satish Chandra, National Secretary explained the salient featuresof Constitution and Bye-Laws. First day proceedings were conducted byShri N. Doulath Rao, National Additional Secretary General.On the nextday, i.e. Sunday, 1st June 2008 the first session was chaired by Shri I.D.Ojha, National working President who explained about the effective modeof conducting programmes, reporting and Sanskar projects. This wasfollowed by deliberations on Seva projects by Shri S.K. Wadhwa, NationalAdditional Secretary General Dr. Satya Prakash Tiwari, National ChairmanSeminars, spoke about holding of Seminars and finally concluding remarkswhere given by our National Vice-President, Shri S.K. VermaDr. B.D. Patel, National Convener, Sampark conducted the Secondday's proceedings. Shri. N. Doulath Rao was the convenor and ShriC.N.N. Raju Prant General Secretary, Co-Convenor for the workshop.Patiala, Punjab East : Disrtict wokshop was held on 21&22.06.2008 at Kumarhatti in Solan Distt.H.P. in which 8 branches (5branches of local Patiala, Samana, Patran, Rajpura - Total 8) participatedwith family members. State President R.K. Sehgal, State GeneralSecretary Harender Gupta, State Finance Secretary S.C. Galhotra, StateOrg. Sec. H. P. Narang were present throughout. R.K. Sehgal appealed tomembers to use their potential in doing social work.
