AQUATIC LIFE GOLTIX WG/metamitron has extremely high toxicity to certain aquaticorganisms, in particular algae and aquatic plantsGOLTIX WG is classified as 'TOXIC TO AQUATIC ORGANISMS'. Althoughno specific buffers to surface water are required during application, caremust be taken to ensure that surface waters or ditches are not contaminatedwith the product or the used container.GOLTIX WG is not classified according to the LERAP system.5. SOIL andGROUND-WATEREarthwormsSoil microorganismsMetamitron has low persistence in soil.Metamitron is moderately mobile in soil however no risk management isrequired to protect groundwater following the label recommended use ofGOLTIX WG.GOLTIX WG has moderate toxicity to earthworms however no riskmanagement is required at the recommended application rates.GOLTIX WG is of low risk to soil micro-organisms. 6. NON-TARGETPLANTSMetamitron is a herbicide and therefore care should be taken to minimisedrift to wild plants.
