The Cushions that Built the Largest
Billiard Table Factories
in the World.
There is but One "Monarch" in
the Billiard Universe.
Imitators have found the manufacture of a
"speedy" cushion a comparatively simple mat-
ter. They have secured a cushion with a
correct angle in some parts of the table, but
they have never been able to overcome
the more difficult problem of producing
a cushion that would act in the center
of the table precisely the same as it
does nearer to the end rails.
MONARCH CUSHIONS.
Absolute accuracy of angle throughout the
entire length of the cushion rail is an impossi-
bility except by the method employed in the
"Monarch."
Imitators have approached as close to the
line of infringement as they dare, and there
they have met an insurmountable barrier in the
patents of the "Monarch," consequently
THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE
to produce a cushion that will act the same in
all parts of the table, center, corner and ends.

The foregoing is a commonplace explanation
of the technical term of "Uniform Resiliency"
used by experts in connection with the "Mon-
arch." • It is the fundamental principle of
these celebrated patents, the most important
ones of the many thousands of patents in the
billiard line.
