Andy Narell has been described asthe Jimmy Smith of the steel pan.A pioneering musician and composer,the U.S.-born Narell brought the steelpan into the jazz mainstream throughhis solo album University of Calypso.Narell’s captivating performancesevoke a simplicity that contrasts withan intensely sophisticated music.His dozens of albums and hundredsof performances worldwide havemade him a genre unto himself.Relator (real name Willard Harris) isone of Trinidad’s finest calypsonians.He is a brilliant singer-songwriter,with a long series of outstandingcompositions.
