Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.14. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.15. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them thatweep.16. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things,but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your ownconceits.17. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in thesight of all men.18. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with allmen.19. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place untowrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith theLord.20. In matters requiring diligence not slothful.A. Christians are not to be lazy in regard to the Lord’s work.B. <strong>To</strong> the contrary, we are to be fervent in spirit as we serve theLord.C. In temporal matters we are to work as unto the Lord and not asunto men.<strong>Romans</strong> <strong>12</strong>:<strong>12</strong>, Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuinginstant in prayer;I. Christians are to:A. Rejoice in hope. Regardless of our troubles, the glorious hopeof heaven transcends all. Hebrews 6:19, Which hope we haveas an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and whichentereth into that within the veil;B. Be patient (persistent) in tribulation, persecution. <strong>We</strong> arenot to give into the devil no matter how he attacks us.C. Continue stedfastly in prayer. Prayer helps us persevere in allmanner of difficulties.II. It is not difficult to understand what Paul meant in this verse. Christians are to communicate, distribute to the necessities of thesaints, disciples all of whom are to lead holy lives.A. “Communicating” refers to the giving of money or supplies toneedy Christians.B. <strong>We</strong> are to communicate to all those in need.C. <strong>To</strong>p priority goes to meeting the needs of our fellow Christians.D. Paul speaks here of necessities, not wants, desires.II. Christians are to be given to, disposed to hospitality.A. <strong>We</strong> should be looking for opportunities to be hospitable.B. This means much more than having the preacher and our churchfriends over for dinner once in a while.<strong>Romans</strong> <strong>12</strong>:14, Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.I. Christians are to bless people who persecute us.A. Christian love goes far beyond what is expected in the world.B. <strong>We</strong> are to do good to our wicked and malevolent enemies.C. Christianity contains many hard sayings.<strong>Romans</strong> <strong>12</strong>:15, Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep withthem that weep.I.
