Yet the pain feltfrom Krishna’s separation is far more intense thanthe ecstasy felt from His association. ßrÈmanMahÅprabhu says, “Can’t you understand thepainful situation you are in? Your senses must haveall been destroyed? Otherwise you would have diedfrom the pain <strong>of</strong> separation from Krishna. It isinconceivable. We belong to Him wholesale. He isall in all to us, but we can’t see Him. We areforcibly separated from Him. How can we toleratethis?” And Bhaktivinoda †hÅkura once said, “Ican’t tolerate separation from Krishna any longer. Ican go on for only three or four more days, andthen I shall have to leave this body.”To love Krishna means that we shall have to “dieto live.” In the beginning divine love seems like lava,death, but really it is nectar, life. Many persons in thisordinary world are also frustrated in love. <strong>The</strong>y sometimesgo mad and commit suicide because they can’ttolerate the pain. But the pain which comes with separationfrom Krishna, although compared with lava, isnot injurious like lava.
