The agreement outl<strong>in</strong>esvarious cooperative programs which will beexplored between <strong>the</strong> two <strong>in</strong>stitutions.These <strong>in</strong>clude <strong>the</strong> exchange of teach<strong>in</strong>g andadm<strong>in</strong>istrative personnel as well as <strong>the</strong>exchange of students and collaboration onshort-term tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g and symposia. Follow<strong>in</strong>g<strong>the</strong> sign<strong>in</strong>g ceremony, a discussion onpotential areas of collaboration took placewith participants <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g Assoc. Prof. Dr.Wariya Ch<strong>in</strong>wanno, Dean of <strong>Mahidol</strong><strong>University</strong>’s Faculty of Social Sciences andHumanities.VNU Vietnam National <strong>University</strong>, HanoiOn 24 th January 2013, a delegation from Vietnam National <strong>University</strong>, Hanoiled by Prof. Phung Xuan Nha, President were welcomed to <strong>Mahidol</strong> <strong>University</strong> byPresident Rajatanav<strong>in</strong> and <strong>Mahidol</strong> <strong>University</strong> executives. The delegation wasvisit<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> university and its Salaya campus <strong>in</strong> order to sign a Memorandum ofUnderstand<strong>in</strong>g (MoU) between <strong>the</strong> two <strong>in</strong>stitutions. This document outl<strong>in</strong>es <strong>the</strong>ircommitment to <strong>the</strong> exchange of students, faculty members, research scholars,research materials and publications as well as promot<strong>in</strong>g jo<strong>in</strong>t research activities.Faculty of Medic<strong>in</strong>e Siriraj Hospital and National Cheng Kung <strong>University</strong>On 27 th February 2013, Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Professor Udom Kach<strong>in</strong>torn, Dean of <strong>the</strong> Faculty of Medic<strong>in</strong>e Siriraj Hospital welcomedProf. Chyi-her L<strong>in</strong>, Dean of College of Medic<strong>in</strong>e and dist<strong>in</strong>guished guests from National Cheng Kung <strong>University</strong>, Taiwan. Thepurpose of this visit was to sign an MoU on education and research exchange. Later, Prof. Liu Ch<strong>in</strong>g-Chuan delivered a speciallecture ‘Antimicrobial Stewardship Program <strong>in</strong> Taiwan’. Follow<strong>in</strong>g this, <strong>the</strong> guests were given a tour to Siriraj’s Laboratories,Center of Applied Thai Traditional Medic<strong>in</strong>e, Siriraj Medical Library and Siriraj Piyamaharajkarun Hospital.10 • Spectrum | Vol.20, No. 1 | January - April 2013
