Welcome to the 2012-13 school year! Even though school officiallyopened last Wednesday, our student athletes, coaches, and volunteershave been out on the fields, gyms, and courses for almost a month. Ilove this time of year as the campus comes back to life and the energylevel rises.As we close out last year and begin this year several exciting things arehappening around athletics:● We finished last year with 21 seniors signing to play athletics at the college level and we wish themGod's blessings● We started our first phase of telling the CAL athletic story in Centurion Hall. You will see the storyof the Centurion, CAL STARS, the Wall of Founders, and banners representing colleges where ourstudent athletes have signed.● New signage in the next two weeks will be installed recognizing our outdoor teams accomplishmentsand championships● We have opened an athletic spirit store - The Armory! We are very excited and the early responseshave been positive. Please stop by and "Gear up for Battle" at The Armory!● We completed the athletic facility and had an open house. If you haven't seen it, stop by and see thenew locker rooms, coaches office, and the 4000 sq. ft. sports performance area.● We have installed a new track shed to better host large track meets and a more permanent concessionstand to serve the stadium visitors section and the north and south fields.● We have raised $34,000 for softball lights since January and still need $40,000 in order to install.
