It is preferably used with sulfenamide or thiazoleaccelerators to improve processing safety, leaving the properties of thevulcanizates generally unchanged. Rhenogran Retarder E-80 has a very slightretarding effect, or none at all, on the vulcanization of compounds containingthiuram (NBR compounds are an exception). If magnesium oxide is added,Rhenogran Retarder E-80 is also effective in thiuram-cured compounds basedon NR or SBR. Rhenogran Retarder E-80 does not influence vulcanizateproperties. Rhenogran Retarder E-80 does not cause contact staining.Vulcanizates exposed to light undergo no discoloration. Only pure white articlesmay undergo slight yellowing under prolonged exposure.The thermoplastic, fully compatible elastomer binder which is combined withspecial dispersing agents allows quick absorption and excellent dispersion inthe rubber.
