Inher speech, Ms Nargiz Nasrullayeva-Muduroglu gave a quick overview of the country’sbusiness climate in general and customs in particular.In all of the GUAM countries AmChams represent the leading companies of local andinternational business which makes us the voice of the private sector in dialogs with theGovernments and IFIs. Established in 1996, AmCham Azerbaijan is composed of over 210Member companies from more than 15 different countries, active in every sector of theAzerbaijani economy and accounting for over 80% of all foreign and a significant portionof the local investment in Azerbaijan. As representatives of the international and localbusiness community in Azerbaijan, we have a strong interest in seeing business succeedin Azerbaijan. Key to that success is a business environment which permits business tothrive.Our region-GUAM countries compete for investment with all the other countries in theworld. While having a healthy advantage due to strategic location and its natural resources,the countries cannot become complacent in their efforts to further develop the economythrough improvement of the investment climate.41
