ACNo. : AC/OPS/016R00Date : 01 Mar 09(1) <strong>Training</strong> in addition to that required by initial training <strong>and</strong> conversion <strong>and</strong>differences training shall include particular emphasis on the following toreflect single cabin crew operations:(i) responsibility to the comm<strong>and</strong>er <strong>for</strong> the conduct of cabin safety <strong>and</strong>emergency procedure(s) specified in the Operations Manual;(ii) importance of co-ordination <strong>and</strong> communication with the flight crew,management of unruly or disruptive passengers;(iii) review of operator’s requirements <strong>and</strong> legal requirements;(iv) documentation;(v) accident <strong>and</strong> incident reporting; <strong>and</strong>(vi) flight <strong>and</strong> duty time limitations.(2) Familiarization flying of at least 20 hours <strong>and</strong> 15 sectors. Familiarizationflights shall be conducted under the supervision of a suitably experiencedcabin crew member on the aeroplane type to be operated.(b) An operator shall ensure, be<strong>for</strong>e a cabin crew member is assigned to operate as asingle cabin crew member, that this cabin crew member is competent to per<strong>for</strong>mhis/her duties in accordance with the procedures specified in the OperationsManual. Suitability <strong>for</strong> single cabin crew operations shall be addressed in thecriteria <strong>for</strong> cabin crew selection, recruitment, training <strong>and</strong> assessment ofcompetence.6 Senior cabin crew members(a) An operator shall nominate a senior cabin crew member whenever more than onecabin crew member is assigned.(b) The senior cabin crew member shall have responsibility to the comm<strong>and</strong>er <strong>for</strong> theconduct <strong>and</strong> co-ordination of cabin safety <strong>and</strong> emergency procedure(s) specifiedin the Operations Manual.(c) Where required by regulations to carry more than one cabin crew member, anoperator shall not appoint a person to the post of senior cabin crew memberunless that person has at least one year’s experience as an operating cabin crewmember <strong>and</strong> has completed an appropriate course (see Annex 6).(d) An operator shall establish procedures to select the next most suitably qualifiedcabin crew member to operate as senior cabin crew member in the event of thenominated senior cabin crew member becoming unable to operate.
