ACNo. : AC/OPS/016R00Date : 01 Mar 097 Representative training devices(a) A representative training device may be used <strong>for</strong> the training of cabin crew as analternative to the use of the actual aeroplane or required equipment.(b) Only those items relevant to the training <strong>and</strong> testing intended to be given, shouldaccurately represent the aeroplane in the following particulars:(1) Layout of the cabin in relation to exits, galley areas <strong>and</strong> safety equipmentstowage;(2) Type <strong>and</strong> location of passengers <strong>and</strong> cabin crew seats;(3) Where practicable, exits in any modes of operation (particularly in relationto method of operation, their mass <strong>and</strong> balance <strong>and</strong> operating <strong>for</strong>ces); <strong>and</strong>(4) Safety equipment of the type provided in the aeroplane (such equipmentmay be “training use only” items <strong>and</strong>, <strong>for</strong> oxygen <strong>and</strong> protective breathingequipment, units charged with or without oxygen may be used).8 Initial trainingAn operator shall ensure that each cabin crew member successfully completes initialtraining, approved by AACM, in accordance with Annex 2 of this AC, <strong>and</strong> thechecking prescribed in paragraph 13 of this AC be<strong>for</strong>e undertaking conversiontraining.9 Conversion <strong>and</strong> differences training(a) An operator shall ensure that each cabin crew member has completed appropriatetraining, as specified in the Operations Manual, be<strong>for</strong>e undertaking assignedduties as follows:(1) Conversion training. A conversion course must be completed be<strong>for</strong>e being:(i) First assigned by the operator to operate as a cabin crew member; or(ii) Assigned to operate another aeroplane type; <strong>and</strong>(2) Differences training.
