ued throughout the world because 

they do not project inwards into the 

living space. They enable the use of 

slimmer profiles, which allow more 

light to enter the room. Outward 

opening side-hung “casement“ and 

outward opening top-hung “awning“ 

windows with crank handles are par- 

ticularly popular in North America. 

Due to the frequent use of insect 

screens, direct access to the sash 

is not often possible. Crank openers 

mounted on the frame offer an 

effective solution for remote open- 

ing and closing of the sash; allow- 

ing the window to be opened up 

to 90°. Suitable for vinyl, wood and 

aluminum profiles; excellent gasket 

compression and weather-sealing

Roto uses patented, leading edge 

CNC laser technology to cut and 

manufacture the gear specifications 

used in every X-Drive operator. In ad- 

dition to providing a clean, precise 

operation, it inherently hardens 

carbon steel. Significantly, it allows 

pre-hardened stainless steel to be 

manufactured, since true stainless 

cannot be post-hardened or heat- 

treated. This technological break- 

through enables Roto to manufacture 

the only true hardened stainless steel 

operator that far exceeds AAMA 901 

life cycle testing requirements. 

All exterior components of X-Drive 

operators are available in 100% 

stainless steel or powder coated 

steel. They offer unsurpassed quality 

and superior corrosion resistance. 

The coated steel versions provide up 

to 750 hours of corrosion resistance,

standards and are rated to com- 

mercial grade for the split and single 

arm, and architectural grade for the 

dual and awning arm. All versions 

offer two-directional fixing. This 

allows the operator to be fastened 

to the frame in multiple directions 

and provides a secure and energy 

efficient attachment for vinyl. The 

operator unit is sealed with silicone 

during the manufacturing process 

to minimize water and air infiltra-

casement locking system is easy to

time. Available in single- and multi- 

point versions, the locking systems 

meet all forced entry requirements 

and fit wood, aluminum, fiberglass 

and vinyl profiles. 

LH08 lock handle. 

The LH08 lock handle works with 

vinyl, aluminum and fiberglass pro- 

files and can accommodate almost 

all application requirements. It is 

available in a single point configura- 

tion as well as several multipoint ver- 

sions that easily connect to our 

lockbars. All handles feature a non- 

handed design that will reduce 

inventory needs. The handle travels 

180º and features a patented “over 

center” design. If someone tries to

Roto lockbars are available in stain- 

less steel or powder coat and are 

equipped with adjustable lock points 

that control the amount of sash pull- 

in. The amount of sash pull-in can be 

adjusted up to 3/32” (2.2mm) by 

simply rotating the lock point pin 

with a wrench. This patented feature 

allows for variable sash compression 

at any point that it’s needed. 

Each lock point is capable of han- 

dling up to 250/300lbs (114/136kg). 

The standard versions offer a 2 to 3 

lock point configuration, while the 

impact assemblies add additional 

lock points to achieve higher perfor- 

mance ratings. The locking points 

have plastic rollers that reduce noise 

and friction when in contact with the 

keepers. 

Simplifying your production 

process 

The LB08 series can be purchased 

with guides pre-applied and auto- 

located so that installation into the 

window is efficient and accurate 

every time. In addition, this version is 

non-handed so inventory SKU‘s 

(stock-keeping units) are greatly sim- 

plified and reduced. The guides are 

available in two colors - stone, to 

match our powder coated bar and 

black. They come with locating tabs 

for locating the bar against the pro- 

file, and our patented break off tabs 

that keep the guide in place until the 

lock system is engaged for the first 

time.

Roto hinges provide unbeatable 

performance 

Roto offers a complete range of 

hinges for virtually any casement or 

awning window application, including 

garden windows and french case- 

ments. The HG05 hinge is designed 

and manufactured to provide unbeat- 

able performance, and is considered 

to be the strongest hinge in the mar- 

ket. Hinges are available in powder- 

coated steel and stainless steel. The 

HG05 hinge series features 10” and 

13” (254mm and 330mm) washability 

versions, as well as a 10” (254mm) 

egress version. The washability 

version moves the sash approximate- 

ly 4” (102mm) in from the frame for 

convenience in washing the exterior 

of the window. The egress version 

keeps the sash tight to the frame to 

allow the maximum window opening 

for egress situations. All variants are 

available in 7/16” and ½” (11mm and 

13mm) stack heights to eliminate the 

need for a spacer. The 10” (254mm) 

version is AAMA rated to 110lbs 

(50kg) and the 13” (330mm) version 

is rated to 125lbs (57kg). It is also 

AAMA 904 life cycle compliant and 

has been installed on windows that 

have passed ASTM E1886 and ASTM 

E1996 hurricane impact testing.

All hinge tracks are made from a 

high grade 304 stainless steel to 

minimize corrosion from standing 

water. The arms are available in 

either powder coat or stainless steel, 

depending on the level of corrosion 

performance needed. The powder 

coat arms have been tested to 750 

hours per ASTM B117, while the 

stainless steel arms have tested over 

2,000 hours. The arms also feature 

rounded edges that resist binding 

and hardened material that provides 

smooth operation and superior 

performance.

Each hinge is equipped with Roto’s 

quick connect feature, an integrated 

snap-in design that allows for easy 

connection between the sash and 

frame. In addition, the connection 

point adjusts up to 1/8” (3.2mm), 

which allows compensation for 

sash misalignment or sash sag with 

the simple turn of a wrench. The 

track features a notched corner that 

allows the hinge to be located 

against the frame edge, without 

interfering with vinyl corner welds.

holes in the track to locate and se- 

cure a limiting device or to properly 

secure a bow or bay window.

In-line sliding doors are suggested 

for and used anywhere that space 

is limited. Since the sash does not 

project inwards, but slides from 

side to side, the interior living space 

remains unobstructed. Roto offers 

multiple locking mechanisms and 

handle designs for this type of 

application, under the brand Titan. 

Designed for vinyl and aluminum 

applications, Titan possesses all the 

characteristics necessary for sliding 

patio door hardware – super strength, 

smooth operation, and unsurpassed 

versatility. Various versions are 

available to accommodate different 

security levels and economic 

requirements. 

According to the FBI, a 

burglary occurs somewhere 

in the United States every 

15.4 seconds. That means 

more then 2,000,000 bur- 

glaries are estimated each 

year. The weakest parts of 

a house and the easiest way 

to break in are through the 

windows and patio doors.

The 2- and 4-point locking mecha- 

nisms utilize a rack and pinion drive 

system that assures exceptionally 

smooth operation. For strength and 

durability, the mechanism compo- 

nents are made of zinc die cast. The 

locks have built-in detents that give a 

tactile indication (click) of the locked 

and unlocked status. 

Confirmed quality 

Both locks meet the following code 

and specification requirements: 

AAMA 910-93 Life Cycle Testing, 

and ASTM B117-97 (1,000 hrs) 

corrosion resistance. Beyond that, 

the 2-point lock meets ASTM F842, 

Grade 30 (800lbs or 364kg) Forced 

Entry requirements. The 4-point lock 

mechanism has 2 additional auxiliary 

lock points (hooks), which produce 

an increased security level of grade 

40 (1,100lbs or 500kg) for ASTM 

F842. The faceplate is a continuous 

one-piece part. The locking system is 

protected with a patented mishan- 

dling feature that engages automati- 

cally with each operation to prevent 

accidental damage to the striker and 

locking system. 

Easy adjustment 

The single point has one locking 

hook that is easily adjusted by turn- 

ing a set screw at the face of the 

lock. It offers mishandling protec- 

tion in which the hook retracts into 

the lock body if the door is acciden- 

tally slammed shut while the hook is 

extended in the locked position.

Innovative design 

Roto’s innovation has created a 

flexible application with an adapter 

plate, that allows the single point 

mortise lock the versatility to fit 

within a 2-point or 4-point mortise 

lock routing. Only one tool punch 

is required to accommodate all 

versions of the patio door hard- 

ware solution. In keeping with the 

Titan aesthetic look and corrosion 

resistance, the lock mechanisms 

have an anodized aluminum face 

plate. The lock mechanisms easily 

fit into 9/16“ × 6 ¾“ (14mm wide × 

171mm long) routing. 

The single and 2-point locks are 

fixed to the door style with two 

screws. The 4-point lock uses eight 

screws for fastening. Three stylish 

handle designs are available for the 

Roto Titan; the Malibu, the Manhat- 

tan, and the Monterey, all construct- 

ed of high grade zinc die casting 

for long durability. The Malibu and 

Manhattan feature a two piece 

design in which the handle is sepa- 

rate from the mounting base. The 

mounting base is affixed through 

the door and allows the handle to be 

attached with side oriented fasten- 

ing screws for a clean appearance.

The Malibu and Manhattan come 

available in keyed or non-keyed ver- 

sions, on the exterior. The straight 

pull is also offered in a keyed or non- 

keyed version. Non-keyed is avail- 

able with an optional security plate 

at the cylinder location that prevents 

drilling through the exterior pull to 

gain access to the lock.

The Roto 2-D adjustable hinges can 

be used on PVC, wood entry or patio 

door applications that require adjust- 

ability. The hinges are non-handed, 

reducing SKU’s and inventory levels 

for the manufacturer. They are made 

of stamped steel and die cast zinc 

for greater strength and perfor- 

mance. They surpass BHMA grade 3 

testing requirements, which certify a 

40lb (18kg) door. Roto has voluntarily 

tested the 2-D hinge independently, 

and offers it for use on doors up to 

180lbs (82kg). The hinges come with 

2-D top/bottom hinge 

a removable pin with a lockout fea- 

ture, that prevents the pin’s removal 

once the door is installed. They also 

feature plastic bushings for greater 

wear resistance, less maintenance 

and quiet operation. 

Roto 2-D hinges mean easy 

adjustment 

The set includes: top and bottom 

horizontally adjustable pairs and a 

vertical and horizontal adjustable 

center hinge. The center hinge fea- 

tures 3/16” (5mm) of vertical and 9/64” 

(3.5mm) of horizontal adjustment. 

The top and bottom guide hinge 

2-D center hinge 

features 9/64” (3.5mm) of horizon- 

tal adjustment and is designed to 

float vertically. This design allows 

the door height to be adjusted by 

changing only the center hinge. The 

adjustment of the hinges can be 

carried out with a #2 Phillips screw- 

driver for easy field adjustment. The 

hinge components are individually 

packaged and matching screws are 

available in several sizes. The Roto 

2-D hinge is available in two painted 

colors and seven architectural 

finishes.

Patio Tilt&Slide:

Roto Tilt&Slide systems are ap- 

propriate for small and medium 

door openings with an operable 

sash width up to 78 ¾“ (2,000mm). 

Tilt&Slide hardware is based upon 

standard Tilt&Turn window profiles 

in vinyl, wood and aluminum. In 

Roto Patio Tilt&Slide, both the fixed 

and operable panels are flush in the 

same plane when closed, offering a 

sleek appearance. 

Tilt&Slide hardware is available in 

two versions. The standard S version 

and the positive sash control Patio 

Z version. Both hardware systems 

allow the sash to be tilted for ventila- 

tion or opened fully to the side. The 

Patio S hardware utilizes technology 

from the Roto NT platform and can 

be supplemented with patio specific 

locking components (i.e. horizontal 

center locks). With this system the 

sash is brought manually into the 

tilt mode and/or back to the locked 

mode.

Roto’s Patio Life sliding hardware 

saves the user the arduous task of 

lifting the door. Patio Life hardware 

is especially beneficial for large 

Lift&Slide doors and enables sash

3,235mm), sash heights of 27” to 

105” (690mm to 2,670mm) and a 

frame external width of max. 255”

Never again lift a sliding door 

In position 1: 

All lock points on the door are 

activated and the upper and lower 

gaskets are extended to seal the 

door. 


The lock points are opened and the 

upper and lower gaskets are retract- 

ed into the door allowing the door to 

roll freely with minimal friction. The 

only point of contact is between the 

rollers and the roller track, and the 

guide rail at the top of the sash. This 

minimal friction allows effortless 

movement of large, heavy sashes. 


Closed Open Secure night

The lock points are secured and the 

lower gaskets are extended creating 

a seal at the bottom of the door. The 

upper gaskets are retracted allowing 

ventilation across the entire length of 

the operable panel and are protected 

in such a way, that neither rain,
