Visit us at www.work-microwave.deRedundancy Switch 1:1Redundancy Controller 1:1RSCM1The WORK Microwave Redundancy Switch 1:1 isused for 1:1 redundancy configurations for upconverters,downconverters, modulator-upconverters,transportstream- modulators, demodulators <strong>and</strong>modems. It includes typically a coaxial signal splitterfor the input signal <strong>and</strong> a coaxial signal switch for theoutput signal. Optional also an input signal switchinstead of the signal splitter is available. For IPmodem applications a similar device of type RSCI1 isavailable.LNAs or even HPAs can be included wit.hin thesystem, as the switch is capable to control externalwaveguide transfer switches as option. DC power toLNAs can be provided also as option. The switchaccepts alarm signals from 2 types of equipment, sothat it can be used for redundancy configurations withe.g. a video encoder <strong>and</strong> a modulator within onechain.The units can be controlled from the front panel orremotely via RS 232, RS422/485 or IP over Ethernet.The unit can operate in automatic mode, were anautomatic switchover to the st<strong>and</strong> by unit is performedupon detection of an alarm of the active unit. Also amanual switchover to the st<strong>and</strong>by unit can be initiated.Two power supplies <strong>and</strong> two AC input connectorsguarantee very high availability of the unit.The 1:1 redundancy is also available in an outdoorversion, where the signal splitter <strong>and</strong> the signaltransfer relay is mounted within an outdoor switchbox. The control unit is similar to the indoorredundancy controller, but does not include any signalsplitters or signals switches the outdoor switch boxalso includes interfaces for alarms <strong>and</strong> M&C ofoutdoor units.
