CESI EUROPE ACADEMY
Symposium: The courage to have children - women and
men torn between work and family
As birth rates never cease to diminish, the European population is rapidly
ageing. The balance between generations seems to be reaching a threshold.
Faced with these decreasing birth rates, the European societies are confronted
with serious challenges:
• Is it possible, in the face of this evolution, to maintain the European Social
Model?
• Will our society have to get used to a situation where large sections of it
are condemned to poverty?
• Is there a way out of this crisis?
sponsored by the European Commission
