He receivedhis Certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics from the University of SouthernCalifornia. He was a Professor and Director of the Advanced Education inProsthodontics Program at USC. He has been Associate Dean for GeneralPractice and Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Universityof Southern California, as well as the Chairman of the Departmentof Restorative Dentistry. He is currently Professor and Section Head of Biomaterialsin the Department of Operative Dentistry at the University of NorthCarolina, School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill. He has published extensively, andhas lectured worldwide on restorative dentistry and materials science. He isa member of the ADA, CDA, North Carolina Dental Society, CAIC, AmericanAcademy of Restorative Dentistry, American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry,the American College of Prosthodontists, a Fellow of the American Collegeof Dentists, and an Honorary Life Member of the College of Dental Surgeonsof Saskatchewan, The Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, and theWestern Canada Dental Society. Janet currently leads and manages the AdvancedBroadband Enabled Learning (ABEL) program for York University’s Office ofthe Vice President Research and Innovation and York Region District SchoolBoard. In this position, Janet provides leadership in the implementation ofbroadband learning, effective use of digital resources and blended programsfor students, staff and community. Janet has received provincial and nationalawards recognizing her leadership in education.
