WHO WE AREAs early as 1890 Toronto dentists had formed as a group called the Toronto Dental Society. This organization would reinvent themselvesin 1906 to “form a society on a basis more suited to the demands of a profession of busy men and women in the most progressive city in aprogressive country”. This group continued to thrive over the years and would subsequently become the Toronto Academy of Dentistry onMay 8, 1922. They shared office space and staff with the RCDS and the annual fee for membership was $5.00. What was once called ClinicNight was formally changed to Winter Clinic for the meeting on December 8, 1937. The Academy had in fact been holding spring and winterclinics for many years before this, attracting several hundred dentists to each meeting.2011-2012 Board of DirectorsPresidentDr. Robert GreenbaumPast PresidentDr. Anthony LiscioPresident-ElectDr. Paul OkorofskySecretaryDr. Doug JonesTreasurerDr. Phil NovackToronto CentralDr. Michael BulgerToronto EastDr. Allan GoodmanDr. Sheryl LiptonNorth TorontoDr. Elliott SchwartzWest TorontoDr. Jack FingrutDr. Janice Mummery2011 Winter Clinic CommitteeChairDr. Paul OkorofskyGroup ClinicsDr. Barry ChapnickDr. Brian ChapnickDr. Norm KapitainDr. Anthony LiscioExhibitsDr. Aldo BocciaMarketingDr. Brian ChapnickDr. Shayne LiptonSilent AuctionDr. John JenkinsAudiovisualDr. Terry ShaperoDr. Mark LibrachDental IndustryMs. Dianne GrassieMs. Melissa SummerfieldRegistrationsDr. Jack WassermanToronto Academy of Dentistry StaffExecutive DirectorBilly LoweCoordinator, Administrationand EventsHelen Chan4www.tordent.com
