NOTE: If no Site-­‐Based Mentors are available, the Clear Credential C<strong>and</strong>idate may be asked to wait to participate in the Multiple or Single Subject Clear Credential program until a suitable mentor can be found. Job Description for <strong>Coach</strong> of Clear Credential C<strong>and</strong>idateQualifications:• Commitment to work with the Clear Credential C<strong>and</strong>idate for at least one semester.• Must have taught for a minimum of three years <strong>and</strong> hold a California Clear Credential or itsequivalent.• Must possess skills in teaching English Language Learners, students with disabilities, giftedstudents, <strong>and</strong> those with other special needs – CLAD or BCLAD certification• Familiarity with online teaching highly desired.• Clear underst<strong>and</strong>ing of implementing current research-based instruction• Must have sufficient people skills to professionally guide a new teacher toward excellent teaching.Job Description:• Meet weekly with their Clear Credential C<strong>and</strong>idate• Using the online directions, guide the Clear Credential C<strong>and</strong>idate to complete a personaldescription of practice analysis <strong>and</strong> develop a personal professional development plan fortechnology use, moral integration, English Language Learners, Special Populations, <strong>and</strong> four ofthe domains outlined in the Description of Practice <strong>Form</strong>• Assist the Clear Credential C<strong>and</strong>idate in identifying specific areas of strength <strong>and</strong> areas needinggrowth. Guide the c<strong>and</strong>idate to determine multiple artifacts that would support a finding of growthfrom one level to a higher level of functioning as a teacher.• Review the Clear Credential C<strong>and</strong>idates lesson plans, observe at least two lessons, <strong>and</strong> provideconstructive feedback for future growth in a post-observation conference.• May register to receive one unit of credit for supervision of the Clear Credential C<strong>and</strong>idate.Compensation:At the close of Biola’s semester, the coach will receive a stipend.
