<strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> DanceTeam Ends the Seasonwith a Nap!MS school dance team completed theirfall season with several outst<strong>and</strong>ing performancesat football games, assemblies<strong>and</strong> lip sync! After their 6:30 am AwardsBreakfast, the girls took a quick nap beforebeginning the school day! Award recipientswere: Maddie May–Outst<strong>and</strong>ing 6th grader,Sydni Frazier–Outst<strong>and</strong>ing 7th grader, RileyPinto–Outst<strong>and</strong>ing 8th grader, Lexi Lee–Most Valuable Dancer <strong>and</strong> Lily Saxton–theprestigous Crusader Award. The team iscoached by Chris Harper <strong>and</strong> Haley Wheat.6<strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong>Cross CountryThe <strong>Middle</strong> <strong>School</strong> Cross Country Teambrought four team trophies back to <strong>Faith</strong>from the Championship race that tookplace on Thursday, October 18th, to completethe 2012 season. The 6th gradegirls took third place. The second placetrophy was awarded to the girls’ <strong>and</strong> theboys’ 7th/8th grade teams. Michelle Reissfinished the 1.5-mile course in 10:55 toreceive the 2nd place medal. She was followedby teammates Colby Cruden-5th,Taylor Bertges-6th, <strong>and</strong> Sadie Oakley-7th.On the boys’ side, 10 Crusader runnersfinished in the top 20. Athan Kelman completedthe course in 4th place <strong>and</strong> BradyRohnkohl in 6th. It was the outst<strong>and</strong>ingperformances by the 6th grade boys thatearned them the first place trophy. BrevinWalter <strong>and</strong> William Sigler finished the 1-mile course 7 minutes to medal in 2nd <strong>and</strong>3rd place. Jack Bricker finished in 4th <strong>and</strong>AJ Reed in 7th. The girls were led by Hannah Pavlov who finished in 1st, CaitlynOrne in 4th, Jessica Scamman in 7th, Leah Holleran in 10th, Macy Helm in 44th, <strong>and</strong><strong>December</strong> Rose in 69th place to round out the varsity team. The boys team finishedin 4th place at Regionals, <strong>and</strong> were led by Chase Wood who finished in 4th place, AlexRios in 5th, Paul Stephens in 16th, Br<strong>and</strong>on McCormick in 32nd, Connor Carrillo in49th, Ian Tornello in 75th, <strong>and</strong> Matt Garcia in 82nd to round out our varsity team.The girls finished off their season with a 4thVarsity Dance Team“Lights the Night”!<strong>Faith</strong> <strong>Lutheran</strong>’s Varsity Dance Teamparticipated in the Light The NightWalk benefiting the Leukemia &Lymphoma Society.place team finish at the state meet. HannahPavlov led the girls finishing 7th in state,Leah Holleran was 15th, Jessica Scammanin 22nd, Caitlyn Orne in 27th, Macy Helm in46th, Kendall Povilaitis in 50th, <strong>and</strong> <strong>December</strong>Rose in 51st place. The boys had twoindividual qualifiers who both had impressiveraces, with Chase Wood coming in 10th atstate <strong>and</strong> Alex Rios finishing in 20th place.Way to go Crusaders!<strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> WrestlingCrusader Wrestling is in full swing at <strong>FL</strong>HSwith both middle school <strong>and</strong> high school teamspreparing for competition! The coaching staffis excited about the upcoming season <strong>and</strong> theopportunity to coach at such a great school!<strong>Middle</strong> school coaches this season are SamBailey <strong>and</strong> Matt Hesse. <strong>High</strong> school coachesinclude Brennan Drew, Pete Cervantes, DanDolby, Corky Field <strong>and</strong> Tim Jeffries.
