SStanstead’s facilities offer old-world tradition and elegancewith state-of-the-art technology and resources. The Collegecomprises a large complex of buildings on the main campusand is surrounded by 600 acres of land.Stanstead Collegetrong FoundationsAcademicColby House is the administrative andacademic centre of the College. In additionto classrooms, Colby houses the maincomputer centre, sophisticated sciencelabs and a modern library, which has anextensive collection of books andperiodicals with an on-line catalogue.LeBaron Hall is home to the LanguagesDepartment. The Art Department islocated in the Holmes Model School withdedicated drawing, painting, sculptureand pottery rooms, including a kiln. Themusic programme is primarily centredaround Pierce Hall and adjacent practicefacilities.College facilities feature high-techequipment, including a building-tobuildingbroadband fibre-optic networkwith over 600 access points. Every studenthas a personal network drop point at his orher desk allowing for an immediate andeasy gateway to a world of informationand resources. The College continues todevelop innovative applications forhandheld technology – allowing for evermoreefficient and creative management ofinformation in its academic programmes.ResidentialStudents live in four different houses:Bugbee (junior boys), Colby (junior girls),Davis (senior boys), and Webster (seniorgirls). Stanstead Collegen Education for All TimeStanstead College is an international community, welcomingstudents from every corner of the globe. Admission to all gradelevels is determined by an evaluation of relevant informationconcerning the applicant’s scholastic background.AIn addition to the academic potential of theprospective student, his or her characterand interests are assessed. The finaladmission decision is based on scholasticrecords, a standardized test, confidentialreferences and a personal interview.The minimum requirement for a studentadmitted to the Grade 12 programme isthe Quebec Secondary School AcademicDiploma or its equivalent.Upon receipt of the completed application,the College may contact referencesdirectly. Applicants are interviewed by theDirector of Admissions, sit the entranceexam and along with their parents aregiven a tour of the campus. Applicantswho cannot visit the school for an intervieware required to write to the Director ofAdmissions. This letter should outlineinterests and abilities while stating objectivesfor a boarding school experience.Application Procedure1- Complete the application and parentevaluation forms.2- Provide three references (two academic,one personal).3- Provide current and past transcripts,other relevant scholastic documents,and two wallet-size photos.4- Send to: Director of Admissions,Stanstead College, 450 Dufferin,Stanstead, Quebec, Canada, J0B 3E0.Scholarships and Financial AidA number of entrance scholarships aremade available each year, ranging invalue from $2,000 to full fees.
