The role of the coordination unit is to assist in the training,resourcing and monitoring of educators in their area.Educators must be registered with their local coordination unitto be considered part of the family day care sector. Coordinationunits may comprise of child development officers, field workers,managers, directors, placement officers, administrative staff andothers.A partner of the primary family day care educator who assists withthe care of children.Education that is not delivered face to face e.g. on-line, e-learningor self-paced learning.A program that funds up to 90% of the cost of training fromCertificate III to Advanced Diploma level. It is designed to increasethe skills of existing workers especially in occupations on thepriority occupations list.This program is managed by Department of Education,Employment and Workplace Relations.An enterprise where the principal business is not training andeducation and is an RTO and can deliver nationally-recognisedqualifications.Family day care provides families with an opportunity to havetheir children participate in an early childhood education and careprogram, in small groups, in a home-based setting.Refers to those in the family day care sector who are registeredwith a coordination unit to provide education and care to childrenwithin their own home.Private Provider A VET provider that is privately owned or a private EnterpriseRegistered Training Organisation.Public ProviderA VET provider that is publically owned such as TAFE and someEnterprise RTOs.Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council: www.cshisc.com.auV
