Initiatives for SocietyS o c i a l R e p o r tSupport for Disaster Recovery OperationsThe policy of the company is to continue providing support for disaster recovery notonly in Japan, but also around the world, based on the relations formed in the courseof international maritime transportation services, as well as those formed with thecommunity. In fiscal year 2007, the company contributed funds to the victims of themid-Niigata Prefecture earthquake and of the cyclone in Bangladesh.Joint Regional Disaster Prevention ProgramsA fire drill at the KDDI Otemachi BuildingExperiencing a smoke-filled environmentThe companies of the <strong>Shinwa</strong> <strong>Kaiun</strong> <strong>Group</strong>, headquartered in the KDDI OtemachiBuilding Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, belong to the joint disaster prevention council for thebuilding, through which they are actively engaged in fire drills and other joint regionaldisaster prevention programs.
