APOC. 3.7-13A t nd to the angel of the churchof Philadelphia, write: Thesethings saith the Holy One andthe true one, he that hath thekey of David; he that openeth, and no manshutteth; shutteth, and no man openeth:8 I know thy works. Yet the hotcolors, including an intenseyellow, of the earlier manuscripthave again given wayto a less strident and simplercolor scheme, notwithstandingthe addition of gold. Thetwo figures now suggest lowrelief. The damp-fold styleof drapery in the figure ofJohn, which is especiallyclose to that of the largerangels on the Majesty page(see p. 22), may be comparedto an analogous apostlefigure in Carri6n de losCondes (see fig. 28).-27-
