Specifically, thetroubadour can learn and cast any spell described in Chapter6 that has a celestial or eladrin component, as long asshe can otherwise cast the spell (it appears on herspell list, it is <strong>of</strong> a level <strong>of</strong> spells that she can cast, andshe has a sufficient ability score to cast spells <strong>of</strong>that level).Spells per Day/Spells Known: At each evennumberedtroubadour <strong>of</strong> stars level, the charactergains new spells per day and spellsknown as if she hadalso gained a levelin an arcane spellcastingclass towhich she belongedbefore adding theprestige class level. The class mustspontaneously cast spells (as asorcerer or bard does). Shedoes not, however, gain any otherbenefit a character <strong>of</strong> that class would have gained (bardicmusic abilities, improved familiar abilities, and so on). Ifthe character had more than one arcane spellcasting classbefore becoming a troubadour <strong>of</strong> stars, she must decideto which class she adds each troubadour level forthe purpose <strong>of</strong> determining spells perday and spells known.Starmantle (Sp): At 3rdlevel, a troubadour <strong>of</strong> stars gainsthe ability to use starmantle, as the spellA troubadour <strong>of</strong> stars(see Chapter 6), once per day. Her caster level is equal to hercharacter level.Song <strong>of</strong> Hope (Su): A 5th-level troubadour <strong>of</strong> stars with 11 ormore ranks in Perform can, as an additional bardic music effect,inspire powerful hope in her allies. Good-aligned creatureswithin 30 feet <strong>of</strong> the troubadour who are her allies gain a +2morale bonus on saving throws, attack rolls, ability checks, skillchecks, and weapon damage rolls, as if affected by the good hopespell. In addition, affected creatures gain a new saving throwagainst any fear effect, despair effect (such as the crushing despairspell), or similar mind-affecting condition, excluding charmperson, dominate person, and similar spells. An affected creaturemay use the troubadour’s Perform check result in place <strong>of</strong> hersaving throw if, after rolling the saving throw, the Performcheck result proves to be better. Using the Words <strong>of</strong> Creationwith this ability increases the morale bonus to +4 and deals11d4 points <strong>of</strong> nonlethal damage to the troubadour.Song <strong>of</strong> hope is a sonic, mind-affectingability.Sanctified Spells: A 6th-level troubadour<strong>of</strong> stars can use sanctified spells asthough they were among her spellsknown.Eladrin Form (Sp): At 7th level, a troubadour<strong>of</strong> stars gains the ability to useeladrin form, as the spell (see Chapter 6),once per day. Her caster level is equal toher class level.Celestial Symphony (Su): A 9th-leveltroubadour <strong>of</strong> stars with 15 or more ranks inPerform can, as an additional bardicmusic effect, create an effect thatduplicates the holy word spell.Nongood creatures within 30feet <strong>of</strong> the troubadour are affectedas though by the spell. The troubadour’scaster level is equal to herclass level. Using the Words <strong>of</strong> Creationwith this effect grants the troubadoura +4 bonus on hercaster level check toovercome spell resistanceand deals 15d4 points <strong>of</strong>nonlethal damage tothe troubadour.
