company's latest mast boom with<br />
a 10 metre working height. Electric<br />
scissor lifts - the 19ft 1930ES and<br />
a 20 metre Liftlux 180-12 - will<br />
also be on show.<br />
Kalmar<br />
Kalmar, the Altec and most recently<br />
Socage distributor in the UK, will<br />
be showing two new products<br />
including the Socage Apache DA<br />
320, its latest 20 metre working<br />
height truck mounted platform<br />
unveiled at Intermat. Mounted on a<br />
3.5 tonne chassis, the platform has<br />
a 9.2 metre outreach with a 250kg<br />
platform capacity. The company will<br />
also be showing a new 13 metre<br />
Altec boom lift mounted on a Ford<br />
Transit van.<br />
Kingfisher<br />
One of the more unusual products<br />
on show will be a new platform<br />
emergency escape/rescue device<br />
from Kingfisher Access. The<br />
compact device incorporates a<br />
friction descent reel which,<br />
combined with one of the<br />
company's multi-linkharnesses,<br />
allows an operator stranded in an<br />
elevated platform to safely lower<br />
himself to the ground under his<br />
own control. The device will be<br />
demonstrated every hour from a<br />
60ft boom.<br />
The company will also be promoting<br />
its wide range of training courses<br />
and its range of harnesses to cope<br />
with all manner of working at height<br />
situations.<br />
Kingfisher<br />
Kirby Tyres<br />
Kirby Tyres has entered the UK<br />
market with the Triple Coin range<br />
of All Terrain crane and truck tyres.<br />
Effectively breaking the two<br />
supplier - Michelin and Bridgestone<br />
- hold on the crane tyre market.<br />
Early indications on the durability<br />
and wear characteristics of the<br />
tyres are promising with several<br />
crane hirers having made the switch.<br />

Kranlyft<br />
Kranlyft will be showing for the first<br />
time in the UK its new six tonne<br />
mini crawler crane, the Maeda<br />
LC1385-B with is 16.7 metre main<br />
boom and two tonnes pick and<br />
carry capability. Another first for is<br />
the 2.8 tonne capacity Maeda<br />
MC285 ultra compact spider crane,<br />
which will be shown with a glass<br />
suction unit mounted to the head of<br />
the crane with full radio remote<br />
controls. Other mini cranes on the<br />
stand include the LC785 mini crane,<br />
and full line of Maeda spider cranes<br />
- the MC405 with fly jib, MC305,<br />
MC174 CRM-G and the MC104 CR-G.<br />
Liebherr<br />
Liebherr will use Vertikal Days for<br />
the first showing of its new LTM<br />
1150-6.1, 150 tonne, 66 metre main<br />
boom All Terrain crane in Ainscough<br />
livery. The new crane will be used<br />
to demonstrate the very latest<br />
version of the company's Bluetooth<br />
remote control system which so<br />
impressed visitors at last year's<br />
Vertikal Days. The system has<br />
moved on dramatically in the 12<br />
months since then.<br />
Also on show will be the four<br />
tonne maximum capacity 32TT<br />
fast-erecting tower crane which<br />
offers seven different jib lengths<br />
and three different under-hook<br />
heights. Also on show is the LTM<br />
1095-5.1 and the MK110.<br />
The Liebherr after-sales product<br />
support team will be out in force,<br />
with a display of service vehicles,<br />
and an example of the automotive<br />
quality respray service offered by<br />
Liebherr's state-of-the-art paint<br />
shop. Also look out for the<br />
company's in-house CPCS Training<br />
School information desk which<br />
will have an instructor on hand to<br />
discuss the many training schemes<br />
on offer.<br />
Manitou<br />
Access and telehandler<br />
manufacturer Manitou will be<br />
showing a selection of its diesel<br />
and electric articulated booms<br />
including its new 17 metre<br />
bi-energy lift, one of its VJR mast<br />
booms and an 18 metre telehandler.<br />
Manitowoc<br />
Manitowoc has taken a booth in<br />
the Marketplace and will be<br />
demonstrating its exciting new<br />
CraneStar fleet management<br />
system for cranes which it is<br />
planning to make standard on all<br />
of its Grove, Potain and Manitowoc<br />
cranes.<br />
Maeda LC1385-B MEC 5492 RT<br />
Mayfield Publishing<br />
Dick Lloyd will once again be selling<br />
and signing copies of his book '40<br />
years a salesman'.<br />
He has announced that this is his<br />
last show and that he is selling off<br />
his remaining inventory at half<br />
price. So this may be your last<br />

MCS<br />
Software supplier MCS is attending<br />
Vertikal Days for the first time and<br />
says that it has worked alongside<br />
a number of access and lifting<br />
hire companies to develop and<br />
refine its comprehensive software<br />
solutions - automating many<br />
critical business processes<br />
without the need for extensive<br />
customisation or radical changes<br />
to existing business processes.<br />
Features include the Allocation<br />
Chart - a colour-coded visual<br />
calendar showing each machine's<br />
booking status; Daily Diary - a<br />
daily 'to do' list of a depot's<br />
deliveries, collections and projected<br />
returns; Associated Specification<br />
Documents - a useful option<br />
providing a machine's safety<br />
and operating instructions printed<br />
(or emailed) with the contract<br />
or delivery note at the point of<br />
hire, ensuring the customer is<br />
supplied with the pertinent<br />
information at the right time and<br />

which collate each machine's<br />

MEC<br />
Back again this year, MEC has two<br />
new machines making their UK<br />
debut - its largest scissor lift to<br />
date, the new 54ft platform height<br />
turbo powered 5492 RT with<br />
optional Ultra Deck and the electric<br />
powered 3084 Speed Level which<br />
is a must see product in that it<br />
extends the self levelling concept<br />
into possible new applications.<br />
The Californian-based manufacturer<br />
will also display a wide range of<br />
electric scissor lifts including<br />
1932ES, 2033ES, 3247ES and the<br />
3772ESHD machine which it says<br />
is unique in its class, being fully<br />
electric with four wheel drive and<br />
self-levelling outriggers.<br />
Mecaplus<br />
Spanish company Mecaplus is<br />
exhibiting for the first time in the<br />
UK and will be demonstrating its<br />
unique 12 metre, self levelling<br />
ME1254 self propelled articulating<br />
boom aimed at high volume tree<br />
pruning applications, although a<br />
more general construction version<br />
of the lift is also available. The<br />
platform is also available with half<br />
and full tracked chassis.<br />
If you are looking for a product that<br />
can truly revolutionise a sector then<br />
some time spent on this stand will<br />
pay dividends.<br />
Merlo<br />
Italian telehandler manufacturer<br />
Merlo is showing one of its<br />
popular Roto 40.25 MCSS 360<br />
degree telehandler fitted with an<br />
EN280 compliant 300kg capacity<br />
variable width platform with has a<br />
maximum width of 4.5 metres.<br />
