DEGREE COMPLETION AGREEMENTBETWEENJOHNSON COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGEANDDEVRY UNIVERSITYOVERVIEW:This formal program articulation agreement is made and entered into by DeVry University, hereinafter referredto as DeVry, and Johnson County Community College, hereinafter referred to as JCCC. By this agreement,JCCC and DeVry express a shared commitment to increasing opportunities for student access to and success inhigher education. By clarifying transfer policies and procedures that assure articulation between programs,the institutions seek to assist students in making a seamless transfer from the associate to the baccalaureatedegree.PURPOSE:This agreement provides students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in <strong>Computer</strong><strong>Information</strong> <strong>Systems</strong> (<strong>C++</strong> Track) at JCCC the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Science degreein <strong>Computer</strong> <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Systems</strong> at DeVry. Any JCCC student who has earned an Associate of AppliedScience in <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Systems</strong> (<strong>C++</strong> Track) is guaranteed that DeVry will accept designated technical andgeneral education credits and will apply such to the Bachelor of Science in <strong>Computer</strong> <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Systems</strong>degree in a manner consistent with the treatment of native students.CONDITIONS OF TRANSFER:Section I: Admissions and MatriculationJCCC students maintaining continuous enrollment under this agreement will be afforded the same treatmentand protection as DeVry native students enrolled under a specific catalog.Criteria for acceptance into Bachelor of Science in <strong>Computer</strong> <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Systems</strong> will be the same for transferas for native students.JCCC, upon request of students, will provide verification of completed courses to DeVry through its Office ofStudent Records.Representatives from the Bachelor of Science in <strong>Computer</strong> <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Systems</strong> degree program and theRegistrar Office at DeVry will evaluate transcripts of students transferring from JCCC.Transfer students from JCCC will have access to financial aid, scholarships, and student services on the samebasis as native students.DeVry will apply the same academic progress and graduation standards to JCCC transfer students as thoseapplicable to native students at DeVry.Section II: Transfer of CreditA maximum of 93 credit hours will be accepted (through articulation or credit transfer) by DeVry from JCCC tobe applied to the Bachelor of Science in <strong>Computer</strong> <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Systems</strong>. Students who transfer to DeVry mustearn at least 25% of the program’s required credit hours through course work completed at DeVry tograduate.Transfer students from JCCC, upon acceptance into the Bachelor of Science in <strong>Computer</strong> <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Systems</strong>program at DeVry, will have junior academic standing at DeVry.Reviewed/Updated: 5-1-07 Page 1

TERMS OF AGREEMENT:This agreement is made and entered into in the academic year 2007-2008 and remains in force unlesschanged in writing by mutual agreement of both parties. The agreement may be amended at any time withthe approval of both parties and is subject to regular review to assure currency with the respective degreerequirements.
