Netball has the longesttrack record of delivering a State-basedcompetition, which is for 24 years now.We have been very fortunate to have astrong supporter in Aurora Energy, whichhas sponsored us for 14 years. Aurora’scontribution to our sport is greatlyappreciated and assists us immensely inmaintaining a State-based competitionwith games played in all three regions ofTasmania.This year we have re-introduced preseasongames to give coaches theopportunity to review their teams, try somecombinations in preparation for the season,and enable the State 17/U and 19/U teamsto have two full days of competition againstour best teams in the State as part of theirpreparation for the National Championships,which are to be held in Tasmania this year.We have also introduced an U14 and U16Development Program for the LicenceHolders’ development teams...our future....The Aurora League will continue to providea pathway for our players and accreditationopportunities for coaches, umpires andofficials. To the true unsung heroes of oursport, the volunteers, thank you for takingon roles and strongly engaging to make theAurora League happen. This significantlycontributes to the success of the AuroraLeague. We specifically wish to thank theumpires who make themselves available forAurora League.One of Netball Tasmania’s strategicinitiatives is to “reshape the AuroraLeague” to ensure the competition growsin its competitiveness, that the Netball andbroader community are fans and it providesa high performance pathway.
