The defensive unit of Amber Zielinski plus Kirra and Jess Parsons that wasso impressive last year will again be combining to make scoring a tough challenge for allopposition sides. Attack-wise the creative Emma Williams (nee Robinson) returns to theAurora League after a break and together with Neletta Lopa, will form a strong and accurateshooting combination. Sophia Saunders has made the move south from Cavs and her heightand athleticism through the mid court could be just the tonic the team needs to get moresupply of the ball through the court to the goalies. The dynamic Kate Cowen also returns and Ellie Grace will step up permanently from the19s. She is sure to impress with her speed and strong attack on the ball. Brianna Rimon isalso returning to the club and will provide a strong and valuable option either end of the courtfor the team. If the players can quickly establish a strong working relationship on court theyhave the talent and experience to push the best teams and have a rewarding year.2011 was a year of near misses for the Cripps 19s side. The team was so close to winninggames on several occasions and had some bad luck with injuries to key players, so in 2012the team is looking to improve under pressure and make the Finals.Lauren Downward and Amelia Fzackerley return in goal and along with Alex Williams, who isstepping up from the club 17s, they form an accurate and exciting shooting trio. Lucy Bainesand Emily Graham form the backbone of the mid court and both have the drive and control tosteer the team positively into attack.Georgina Downward, Ashleigh Nichols and Bec Boxall all return in the defence end andalong with Edwina Flakemore from the club 17s, they will form a strong and aggressivedefensive end that will make life hard for all opposition teams. With the large majority of theteam in their second year of the Aurora League, they now know what is expected as a groupat this level. If they can build a strong belief in each other and play to their strengths, they arecertainly capable of achieving their Finals aim.5
