<strong>About</strong> <strong>UHV</strong>The <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Houston</strong>-<strong>Victoria</strong>, located in the heart <strong>of</strong> the Coastal Bendregion <strong>of</strong> Texas, is a growing university <strong>of</strong> about 4,000 students that <strong>of</strong>fersmore than 50 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and concentrationsin the schools <strong>of</strong> Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Education & HumanDevelopment, and Nursing.Founded as an upper-level university in 1973, legislation signed into law onJune 19, 2009, will allow <strong>UHV</strong> to admit its first underclassmen in the fall <strong>of</strong> 2010and begin an exciting new chapter in the history <strong>of</strong> higher education in Texas.<strong>UHV</strong> also <strong>of</strong>fers upper-level, face-to-face classes at two <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Houston</strong>teaching centers in Fort Bend County, in addition to its home campus in<strong>Victoria</strong>, and online classes that students can take from anywhere.<strong>UHV</strong> provides students with a quality university education from exceptionalfaculty at a great value.3
