Ben Martin
2009 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year
Ben Martin enrolled in Greenville Tech in 1979 and studied
industrial building technology. While in college, he was hired as
a co-op student by Johnson Controls, Inc. and today serves as
the company’s district manager for Upstate South Carolina and
Western North Carolina. Ben was a member of the Alumni Council
and served as chairman of the golf tournament. He also served
on Greenville Tech’s advisory board for the HVAC/R program. He
secured a $10,000 donation from the Johnson Controls Foundation
and also secured the equipment valued at $50,000 for a heating,
ventilating, and air conditioning lab.
William Bradshaw
2009 Honorary Alumnus of the Year
William Bradshaw started his automotive career as an office
manager of a local Chevrolet dealership and he purchased his first
dealership in 1979. His company, Bradshaw Automotive, has grown
to over 400 employees and total sales exceeding $215,000,000. He
served as chairman of the National Automotive Dealers Association
and has won many awards including Dealer of the Year by the
American International Automotive Dealers Association (AIADA),
South Carolina Dealer of the Year, Time Magazine Quality Dealer,
and Greenville Magazine’s Business Person of the Year.
Ever since I was a small child, I have dreamed
of working around airplanes. Since being recently
named a recipient of the Stevens Aviation
