4 C e n t ral Maine Healthcare Development Office We a re pleased to provide this annual report on the activities of Centra l Maine Healthcare ’s Office of Development and Community Affairs. The last fiscal year again demonstrated the strong and mutually beneficial relationship that exists between C e n t ral Maine Medical Center and its many constituents. For more than a century, the people of the gre a t e r Lewiston-Auburn region have generously supported the hospital’s healthcare mission. In return, CMMC has pledged to provide the best healthcare services possible for the people in our re g i o n . Those who are familiar with our annual tradition of offering thanks to the many people who provide fin a n c i a l support for our work will note a change in the format of this year’s missive. Instead of including the Annual Honor Roll of Donors with the Central Maine Healthcare Annual Report, we have developed it as a separate publication for d i rect mailing to those who have assisted us by making financial contributions during the past year. We would be remiss if we failed to note in these introductory remarks a significant change impacting Centra l Maine Healthcare ’s Development Office during the past year. After some five years at the helm of the org a n i z a t i o n ’s f u n d - raising and community affairs pro g ram, Gerald R. Martel re t i red at the end of the fiscal year. Gerry pro v i d e d s t e a d y, thoughtful direction in an era of ever-increasing financial and business pre s s u re s. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize the Central Maine Healthcare - C e n t ral Maine Medical Center A s s o c i a t e s, a group of volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to our mission. They work throughout the year on various fund-ra i s e rs and, most importantly, as community advocates. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many people who have supported CMH-CMMC by giving their fin a n c i a l support to our organization. Because of space limitations, we are able to acknowledge in this Honor Roll only those donations of $25 or more. Donations of less than $25 are equally appreciated; such gifts, when aggregated, amount to significant amounts that care applied to support CMMC’s healthcare mission. F i n a l l y, we make every effort to assure that this Honor Roll recognizes everyone who contributed $25 or more during the last fiscal year.
