TRC<strong>Tablelands</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Council</strong> - Minutes Wednesday <strong>20</strong> <strong>May</strong> <strong>20</strong>09BUSINESS WITHOUT NOTICEADHOC-5ALMADEN CEMETERYCr Pedersen reported he had received a request from Ron White that the Almaden Cemetery befenced and provided a quote for the fencing.Moved by Cr PedersenSeconded by Cr Adams"That provided funds are available in the cemetery reserve, <strong>Council</strong> supply materials for thefencing of the Almaden Cemetery."CARRIEDDIMBULAH LIONS FESTIVALCr Pedersen requested that the streets in Dimbulah be cleaned prior to the Lions Festival to beheld on 29-30 <strong>May</strong> <strong>20</strong>09.Cr Sorensen returned to the meeting at 3:43pm.USE OF PRIVATE CONTRACTORSCr Pedersen requested that a report be provided regarding the allocation of <strong>Council</strong> work to privatecontractors.LGAQ SOCIAL POLICY REFERENCE GROUPCr Jensen reported on her attendance at the LGAQ Social Policy Reference Group meeting heldduring the previous week and that the major point of discussion was the implementation of 10 yearCommunity Plans as required under the proposed new Local Government Act.SUNSET PARK RECREATION PARK/FITNESS TRAIL - CEOLA DRIVE, MAREEBACr Jensen reported she had been contacted by residents in the Ceola Drive area regarding therecreation park and fitness trail proposed for Sunset Park in Ceola Drive, Mareeba and requestedthat the previous resolution concerning this matter be included on the <strong>Council</strong> meeting action list.STAFFING - CHRISTMAS/NEW YEARCr Jensen suggested that <strong>Council</strong> needs to consider the availability of a skeleton staff and <strong>Council</strong>contact arrangements over the Christmas/New Year period. The Chief Executive Officer advisedhe will be undertaking a review of staffing levels for the Christmas/New Year period.Page 42
