TRCTablelands Regional Council - Minutes Wednesday 20 May 2009Cr Pedersen returned to the meeting at 4:07pm.ADHOC-8'NO DOGS' SIGNSCr Adams reported on workplace health & safety concerns to Parks & Gardens staff whoundertake work in Main Street, Atherton and Chinatown in relation to dog droppings and requestedthat Council consider installing 'no dogs' signs in Main Street, Atherton, Chinatown and other parksthroughout the region.Resolved"That this matter be considered in the Parks and Gardens Strategy."CARRIEDPARKING SILO CENTRAL SHOPPING CENTRE, ATHERTONCr Adams requested that Council, through the Traffic Advisory Committee, erect 'no parking' and'10 minute parking' signs on Gill Street and Hopkins Street, Atherton.NQLGA CONFERENCECr Adams expressed his thanks to Council for allowing Cr Linwood and him to attend the NQLGAConference in Hughenden on 6-9 May 2009.ADHOC-9LANDSCAPING - SUBDIVISIONSCr Linwood queried whether Council could request developers to maintain the landscaping ondevelopments such as the subdivision opposite the Atherton International Club.Resolved"That Council request the Manager Urban & Regional Planning to provide clarification regardingthe requirement for the developer to maintain the landscaping on the Kennedy Highway frontage ofthe Country View Estate development at Atherton."CARRIEDGARDEN COMPETITIONSCr Linwood queried whether Council will be conducting garden competitions throughout the regionthis year, as they had been organised by the former Atherton and Eacham Councils in the past inAtherton and Malanda.Page 44
