Our more than 140-year family history gives a measure of the importance we attach to the principles of sustainabilityin our daily work. So it comes as no surprise that we were the first parquet brand in Germany to be 100% PEFC certified.In concrete terms, it means that the majority of the wood we use is sourced from within Europe. In this way, we canachieve short transport distances with a significantly reduced ecological footprint. 2/3 of the spruce we use for thesubconstruction of HARO PARQUET even comes directly from the surrounding area. Our state-of-the-art manufacturingtechnologies are a step in the right direction – also from an environmental point of view: they ensure an efficientutilisation of the raw materials and thus help to prevent the waste of valuable resources. Our commitment tosustainability is also reflected in our energy supply: since 1971 we have been using the waste wood fromour production to generate green energy, which we not only use for our own company, but also feed into the localpower grid.TECHNOLOGY | Sustainability | 109
