Cobussen studied Jazz piano at the Conservatory of Rotterdam and<br />
Art and Cultural Studies at Erasmus University, Rotterdam. He<br />
became Editor-In-Chief of the online Journal of Sonic Studies, and<br />
also edited a special issue of New Sound on improvisation (2009),<br />
and is Contributing Editor of two special issues of the Dutch Journal<br />
of <strong>Music</strong> Theory, one on <strong>Music</strong> and Ethics (AUP, 2002) and one on<br />
Artistic Research (2007) both available from Amsterdam University<br />
Press. Marcel Cobussen’s Ph.D. dissertation “Deconstruction In<br />
<strong>Music</strong>” (2002) is available online.<br />

FR. BASIL COLE, O.P is an author, teacher, and<br />
theologian from Washington, D.C. His book “<strong>Music</strong><br />
And Morals: A Theological Appraisal Of The Moral<br />
And Psychological Effects Of <strong>Music</strong>” (1993), and<br />
“Christian Totality: Theology Of The Consecrated<br />
Life (Revised Edition)” (1997) are both available<br />
from Alba House, “Angels From The Vatican: The Invisible Made<br />
Visible” (1998) is available from HNA Books, and “The Hidden Enemies<br />
Of The Priesthood: The Contributions Of St. Thomas Aquinas” (2007)<br />
is available from St Pauls Publishing. Fr. Basil Cole was a member of<br />
Western Dominican Preaching, involved with many parish missions<br />
and retreats, lecturing at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas in<br />
Rome, has taught moral, spiritual, and dogmatic theology at the<br />
Dominican House of Studies, and is now prior of the novitiate<br />
community St. Gertrude’s Priory in Cincinnati, Ohio.<br />
