See map of residential areas on reverse side.Noise LimitsThe Airport maintains ten permanent noisemonitoring stations (NMS) located to thenorth and south of the Airport (see mapon reverse side). The GANO specifiesnoise limits at each NMS that vary by timeof day.WarningBased on available historical noise data gathered by the Access andNoise Office and as determined by the Airport Director, the followinglist of aircraft are presumed incapable of meeting noise limitationsdefined in the GANO and are not permitted to land, tie down, take offor be based at the Airport, except in an emergency (this list is periodicallyupdated and is maintained by the Access and Noise Office,949.252.5185):Aircraft Presumptively Incapable of Nighttime Departure Operations:General Aviation Noise Limits:HS125-1A-600(Rolls Royce Viper engines)Learjet 23, 24, 25, 28, 29John Wayne Airport (SNA) is one of the busiest and mostnoise sensitive airports in the United States. To mitigate potential noise impacts fromaircraft operations and to enhance compatibility with surroundingcommunities, the Airport maintains some of the most stringentnoise rules in the United States. The General Aviation NoiseOrdinance (GANO) has been adopted by the County of Orange toregulate the hours of operation and the maximum permitted noiselevels associated with general aviation operations. This brochure has been prepared to introduce you to the GANOand to encourage the operation of your aircraft in the quietestmanner possible consistent with safety. A copy of the GANOis available on our Web site at www.ocair.com. The Airportrecognizes that pilot sensitivity is a key component of a successfulnoise abatement program, and your continued cooperationis greatly appreciated.DisclaimerCompliance with the GANO is mandatory unless deviationsare made necessary by ATC instructions, a medical or in-flightemergency, or other safety considerations.More InformationAccess and Noise Office: 949.252.5185Airport Operations: 949.252.5256Airport Web site:ATIS Frequency: 126.0www.ocair.comATIS Phone Number: 714.546.2279Airport Elevation:+54 ft.
