Development ofthese standards will be in accordance with NERC’s schedule. This includes development ofa <strong>SERC</strong> regi<strong>on</strong>al standard addressing <strong>UFLS</strong>.From July 2, 2008 through August 15, 2008, NERC posted for comments draft requirementsfor regi<strong>on</strong>al <strong>UFLS</strong> standards in a document titled, “<strong>UFLS</strong> Regi<strong>on</strong>al Reliability <strong>Standard</strong>Characteristics.” From April 21, 2009 through May 21, 2009, NERC posted for commentsthe sec<strong>on</strong>d draft of the <strong>UFLS</strong> program requirements, including a proposed c<strong>on</strong>tinent-widestandard. <strong>Draft</strong> 3 of the NERC standard was posted for a 35-day comment period from June11, 2<strong>01</strong>0 through July 16, 2<strong>01</strong>0, with an initial ballot the last 10 days of the period. <strong>Draft</strong> 3was not approved. <strong>Draft</strong> 4 was developed in resp<strong>on</strong>se to the comments received, and wasballoted from July 24, 2<strong>01</strong>0 through August 3, 2<strong>01</strong>0. <strong>Draft</strong> 4 was not approved. The NERCstandard drafting team developed <strong>Draft</strong> 5 of the standard and posted it for ballot. The ballotpassed and the NERC Board of Trustees subsequently approved the standard <strong>on</strong>November 4, 2<strong>01</strong>0.Notes for draft <strong>SERC</strong> <strong>UFLS</strong> <strong>Standard</strong>;<strong>Draft</strong> 1 of the <strong>SERC</strong> <strong>UFLS</strong> standard <strong>on</strong>ly c<strong>on</strong>tained the applicability secti<strong>on</strong> and therequirements.
