King County Project RAMPARTRegional Approach to Municipal Public AED Registry and TrainingProject Mission: Provide incentives for King County and select municipalities to promote theplacement and registration of Public Access Defibrillators and proper training in public facilitiesand other settings at high risk for cardiac arrest events.Scone of ResponsibilitiesResponsibility of MunicipalityResponsibility of King CountyProvide a Project RAMPART Liaison to Administer King County Communitycoordinate with King County.Responder AED ProgramCoordinate your city Public Access Administer Project RAMPART PilotDefibrillation efforts.Project and provide a liaison to the city.Ensure that all existing and newly placed Conduct PAD Public Awareness CampaignAEDs within your city are registered with Strategic Initiative as directed in the EMSKing County PAD Registry2008-2013 Strategic PlanCoordinate any private foundation, Maintain King County PAD Registrysponsorship, donation, and/or volunteeractivities related to the purchase andplacement of AEDs and AED training inprivate residences or private facilitieswithin your municipality.Provide training in CPR/AED to cityemployees and other public agencyemployees. Training for employees ofagencies meeting the RCW definition of`Public Agency' may be reimbursed byProject RAMPART funding.Provide AED site coordination, as needed,activities related to proper placement,training and maintenance of the AEDs forall AED in facilities within your city.Coordinate contract activities with KingCounty EMS to receive RAMPARTfunding. Contract can be with the firedepartment or with the city administration.Directly purchase AEDs for publicagencies from the manufacturer, using theWA State Contract #01904.
