Additional specialsurface treatments guarantee greaterdurability with less wear and tear and highresistance to corrosion.The orange coating denotes safety – the plasticsleeve gives increased grip and protects thework piece from possible damage.The cross section and material codes givedetails of the composition of each individualpart.In the case of air, gas and oil – as long as theyare not mixed with any additives – OETIKERCouplings made from standard materials willbe suitable.These details are not binding. Where there isany doubt, tests must be carried out.SealsThe following quality seals are available forOETIKER Couplings. Various seals can beused depending upon the throughput media.All details are not binding. Before use, pleasecontact OETIKER for information about theconcentration, mixture or temperature ofmedia. If there is any doubt, tests should becarried out. All legislation relating to foodstuffsmust be observed.Type NNitrile elastomer (NBR)Good ageing resistance, high mechanicalstrength, resistant to oil and petrol, poorresistance against ozone.Temperature from -20º to +100ºC(-4º to +212ºF).Selection and HandlingIncorrect handling or the wrong choice ofSwing Couplings or accessories can result indamage to property and/or personal injury.The maximum operating pressure for eachmodel as specified by the manufacturer mustnot be exceeded. The throughput medium isa critical factor in the choice of seal andcoupling material. External mechanicalimpact and/or vibration will have an adverseeffect on the durability of couplings andaccessories and should therefore be avoidedor, where this is not possible, limited.OETIKER recommends that couplings andaccessories should be checked periodicallyfor excessive wear and leaks.OETIKER Customer Services Department willbe happy to give you further details aboutthe use of OETIKER Couplings.For more detailed information, please followthe operating instructions.Type VFluorine elastomer (FPM)Very good resistance at high temperatures(except for hot water and steam).Good resistance to many chemicals, ozone,weather.
