Srnsth.Copcland.9rHIS year the Swimming Club has not enjoyed such an activeJI season as in former years. This was due, primarily, to thebreak-up of the Lower Mainland Swimming League last fall. However, according to latest reports the league is going to resumeactivities in the very near future, so the swimmers intend to getinto some effective competition before the end of the term.In spite of this set-back, the Club has held two successful interclassgalas for the Allen and Boultbee Trophy, one each in the falland spring terms, both meets being won by Arts ‘34.At the beginning of the second term Norman Cox took over thecoaching duties relinquished by Don Tyerman and already a greatimprovement is noticeable in many of the swimmers. The Club has two possible Olympic prospects in Ernie Pedenand Harry Andison, who should give a good account of themselvesat the Olympic trials here this summer. The outstanding performers for the Club this year have been:Harry Andison, Ernie Peden, George Copeland, Jimmie Wilson1161](Co,,tinued or, Page One Hundred and Sixiy.t1,rce)
