Bellerbys Campus InformationHomestay accommodationIf you want to live a relativelyindependent life, but still havea caring home environment,Homestay is ideal.Homestay gives you the opportunity toimmerse yourself fully in UK culture andto feel part of a family, eating meals andsharing their lives to get a real experienceof British life. All Homestay accommodationis carefully chosen for the security andfriendliness it provides and we make regularvisits to ensure you have everything youneed. We offer a choice of either single orshared rooms. All our hosts will warmlywelcome you into their homes.Included in all Homestayaccommodation• Fully equipped study bedroom, includingdesk and wardrobe• Breakfast and evening meal from Mondayto Friday with a breakfast and main meal(lunch or dinner) at weekends• Telephone access• Weekly laundryHomestay ExtraHomestay extra retains all the benefits ofthe homestay experience detailed above,but offers the additional feature to thestudent of a private bathroom.Homestay Plus – under 16If you are under 16 years of age, you will beautomatically registered for Homestay Plus.(Note: Homestay is only available in Londonto students who are 16 years old or above).This gives extra support and higher levelsof personal supervision. A detailed careplan will be prepared for you, focusing onclass, personal study and curfew times aswell as dietary and medical issues. A copyof the care plan will be sent to your parents/guardians, so they know you’re in goodhands. Homestay Plus gives extra pastoralcare, liaising regularly with the college,and giving extra support to you whenyou need it.SharingYou have an option to share your roomwith another student. Many students findthis a very good way to ease the transitionof living away from home. They often findit easier to settle in, and benefit frommaking friends with their new room-mate.LocationWe aim to place you in Homestays thatare as close to our centres as possible.However in some cases, this may involvesome travel to the centre, usually by busor train.
