1. OPERATIONAL OVERVIEW<br />

Individual, position, polling and test calls can be acknowledged automatically or manually.<br />

Press the /AC /S key to switch the acknowledge mode between automatic and manual<br />

alternately. The message AUTO AC or MANUAL AC appears on the DSC standby screen<br />

with each press of the key.<br />

N te When own ship’s communication is high priority, set to MANUAL AC .<br />

The auto acknowledgement is not sent in the following cases:<br />

• The category of a received message is DISTRESS, URGENC or SAFET .<br />

• The communication mode is NBDP-FEC, NBDP-ARQ or DATA.<br />

• Com Freq is NO INFO.<br />

• ECC is NG (No Good).<br />

• The handset is off hook.<br />

Equipment priority order is as below.<br />

1. Control unit sending distress alert<br />

2. Control unit 1 routine use<br />

. Control unit 2 routine use<br />

. NBDP<br />

Controls become inoperative in the following conditions:<br />

• When the other control unit goes OFF HOO on RT mode in the two control units system.<br />

• When the other control unit switches to the DSC mode in the two controls system.<br />

• NBDP is scanning or communicating.<br />

• Distress alert or distress relay is transmitted.<br />

• Call other than distress is transmitted (transmission time about sec.) If it becomes<br />

necessary to unlock the keyboard before the message is transmitted, press the CANC<br />

key to cancel the call.<br />

Controls become operative in the following conditions:<br />

• DS SS button is pressed.<br />

• Control unit having higher priority is operated.<br />
