The tradition goes backto the original Santa Claus, St. Nicklaus, a bishop.St. Nicklaus was well known for his generosity andacts of selfless kindness towards those who needed it.As legend dictates he heard of a man in his parish whowas about to be forced into selling his two daughters intoprostitution because he didn’t have enough money to payfor their dowry. Worried for the family’s future he wentout in the evening to see what he could do.When he came upon the man’s home he sneaked overto the girls’ bedroom window. Inside he saw the fathersitting near his daughters’ bedside looking worried andsad. St. Nicklaus took two bags of gold from his robe andlooked for a place to throw them. On the girls’ fireplacethere were stockings hung up to dry above the fire. St.Nicklaus tossed the bags into the stockings and quietlywalked into the darkness. The father looked up whenhe heard a noise and went to the window to find no onethere but he did find the gold in the girls’ stockings. Hewas overjoyed because there was enough to give each afine dowry to marry.St. Nicklaus’ acts of kindness echoed through timeand eventually he became the symbol of Christmas. Heis recognized in many countries as the one who bringstoys to all the good children in the world.Christmas nightChristmas night is hereEveryone is full of cheerChildren wait in bedThinking of the man in redKids dream of reindeer hoovesClick-clacking on their roofsThe elves are getting readyThey are working steadyChildren fall asleepHoping when they wakeThey have presents in a big heapSanta flies off in his sledThinking of the kids in bedKamryn HolmaGr. 7D, WESWATROUS CAR WASH & ICERob and KarenThank you to everyone for remembering to close the doors. From all of usat Pip’s Essoand Subway“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the governmentshall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”- Isaiah 9:6This Christmas season and in the new year, may you rest inthe deep assurance that in knowing Him you have everything.GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYSLinda, Serenic View Bed & BreakfastHave a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!Back: Mark McMann, Doreen Kinar, Patti Fidelack, Chase WestbyMiddle: Abby Rutko, Mackenzie Mason, Laura Worobec, Ginny Mason,Lucienne Gross, Dustin Hallborg, Brenda Peters, Donna BartelFront: Andrea Pavia, Kara Fidelack, Brittany Holmes, Joyce Sperling,Cheryl Grindheim, Gary SchreinerMissing: Joyce Burkitt, Becky Strand, Charolette Demmans,Ryley Woiden, Lorraine Dodds, Brooklin Bushell
