Then, for thesecond day, we make these delicious caramel squaresalong with some other cake (window cake usually). Onour third day of baking, we make cookies then give awaytubs of poppycock as a thank you to some people that wethink deserve it, like very close friends or family.Colton HawkesGr. 8, WHS<strong>Christmas</strong> EveOne <strong>Christmas</strong> Eve Santa was sick and could not deliverpresents. He called his brother John. John cameright over. He brought his elf friend William. WhenSanta asked them if they could take his place, they saidyes. They were excited that Santa picked them. Santawent with John and William to load up the sleigh. Thenhe hitched the reindeer. He told them they would have tocarry John and William, but they said no! Then he toldthem he would give them some Scooby snacks. They thenagreed. John and William did great. Beat together butter, sugar, egg yolksand vanilla extract together until well blended. Stir togetherflour, cocoa and salt in a separate bowl and mixinto the butter mixture. Roll dough into one-inch ballsand roll in chopped almonds. Place on an ungreasedcookie sheet and press thumb gently into the centre ofeach cookie. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until set. Removefrom cookie sheet and cool completely.Prepare chocolate filling by combining powdered sugar,cocoa, butter, milk and vanilla extract in a small bowl.Beat mixture until smooth. Spoon or pipe about 1/4 teaspoonof the chocolate filling into each thumbprint onthe cooled cookies.
